We all know that in order to make affiliate sales we need to shorten the way we use our links. I still see those bit.ly links floating around the internet and it just stands out like a sore thumb. I mean everyone knows that you are cloaking your link with bit.ly. I really have no idea why its still being used.

I could be way off but it just seems to me that if you are going to shorten your link why not just use good ol’ php? I would rather use a link that looked like: http://alecyule.com/resource/info.php than a http://amduq.bit.ly link. I think it just looks more professional when you use your site in the link.

Ok here is the code you can use for a link like I have above:

<?php
header (’Location:http://youraffiliatestuffhere.hop.clickbank.net’);
?>

Now copy the code and put it in a text file.

Name the text file what you want, but make it a .php extension

Create a directory on your server and call it something like “resource” or anything you want.

Upload the .php file you just created to that directory.

Now this is not going to stop people from stealing commissions. Its just a way to use a link that looks more professional than a link that has a sign around its neck that says: Hey Im a Cloaked Link!

Anyway, I think you get the message but if you are really interested in link cloaking and also stopping thieves from stealing commissions then you might want to check out Phantom Link Cloaker 2.0

Here is my BIG BAD AFFILIATE link for you to click on (as if you didnt know that already) Phantom Link Cloaker
